PhysiCare Patient guidance during COVID-19
Reviewed 9th October 2023
The continued prevalence of COVID-19 and the risks associated with transmission and exposure dictate that PhysiCare must continue to manage our decision making and any face-to-face contact with patients in the context of infection prevention and control measures, as well as regulatory and professional frameworks.
We have extra measures in place to help protect both you and our staff when you visit our clinics.
Extra measures in place for patients during COVID-19 and guidance for patients
PhysiCare still have COVID measures in place. The Physiotherapist will ask you about COVID symptoms and take your temperature. You may be sent away if you have symptoms of a respiratory virus or you may be provided with a face mask.
If you develop any COVID symptoms or are unwell, please phone PhysiCare to rearrange the appointment.
Fortunately, the way PhysiCare operate our clinics is already conducive to minimising the spread of infection e.g.
- By appointment only (no unauthorised visitors)
- Only one Physiotherapist using each treatment room
- One patient in waiting area
- All touch surfaces in our room can be wiped clean (we do not use traditional cloth plinth covers, blankets, towels, pillowcases etc)
- Our cleaning regime is effective and the cleaning product we use kills enveloped viruses including Coronavirus, HIV, Hepatitis C and H1N1 Influenza viruses. Also certified to kill MRSA and common food poisoning bacteria including Salmonella typhimurium, Listeria monocytogenes and Escherichia coli. It is also safe (bleach free, non-hazardous, non-toxic), quick and easy to use.
- All clinic rooms have external windows to achieve good ventilation.
Attending our clinic – guidance for patients on the extra measures they should adhere to
Please carefully clean your hands with the alcohol hand sanitiser provided on entering and exiting the clinic.
‘Catch it, bin it, kill it’. Disposable, single-use tissues should be used to cover the nose and mouth when sneezing, coughing or wiping and blowing the nose. Used tissues should be disposed of promptly in the nearest general waste bin and hand sanitiser used.
